We have had a great deal of interest in the Pocket Mod system we highlighted in a previous article for creating printable, wallet size aid memoires so have decided to revisit the article and create a new set.
The Pocket Mod is a system created to enable the creation of wallet sized multi page printouts that are folded in a specific manner to create a small booklet, useful for a wide range of information and applications.
There are three options for using Pocket Mods 1. Use the Pocket Mod SoftwareUsing a software application at the Pocket mod web site drag and drop any of the page options onto your 8 page design. It is as simple as dragging and dropping; choose the relevant page size and print. Cut and fold the pages as per the instructions on the site.
This method is good for general purpose, things to do, calendars etc but is limited because you cannot put your own printed information into the system without XML and programming skills. The original Pocket Mod software is available in both PC and MAC formats at http://www.pocketmod.com/ There is also a beta version 2 available
2. Create Your OwnFar more versatile and useful is the ability to create Pocket mods with your own information. Create a 8 page document in PowerPoint, Word or indeed any application and convert it to a PDF using commercially available or free converters. This 8 page PDF is then fed into a pocket mod converter which takes your design and converts it into a correct rotated and formatted A4 or Letter sheet ready for printing.
Print the resulting PDF file and cut/fold as per the instructions The PDF to Pocket Mod Converter is also available at http://www.pocketmod.com/
3. Use the Ones We Have DesignedWe have created 2 designs, a Guide to BS25999 and an Incident Management Checklist, both PDF's are ready to print and fold.
The PDF versions of the BS25999 Guide and Incident Management Checklist are in the File Library, in the Business Continuity Management and Incident Management folders respectively.
